Green Kyara is not called “green” because of vegetal or other green notes in the perfumer world.
It is called green because large chunks often have a greenish orangey hue. This is due to the color of the soft fibres which is orangey, against the purplish black resin. Green Kyara is from a Ripe formation method, which means the kyara heartwood was exposed to weathering elements over the decades and centuries, and the wood fibres are semi broken down, turning orange, soft. In the natural wood fibre break down process, some acids are generated, and this leads to green kyara having a sour opening note sometimes. The aging/weathering process also generates quite significant amount of vanillic byproducts, giving green kyara a deep, sweet and soothing base.
Here we have prepared Green Kyara samples that serve as an instructive sample for one to learn more about fragrant woods. available in 0.1 gram and 0.25 gram quantities. These are small pieces that are further broken into smaller splinters from kyara bead making scraps.
